Artist's Description

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad has been in continuous operation between Durango and Silverton since 1882, carrying passengers behind vintage steam locomotives. The narrow gauge line was constructed to haul silver and gold ore from Southwest Colorado's San Juan Mountains.Today it is primarily used for passengers offering views of the San Juan Mountains inaccessible by highway.
